Duck! [201]

with 3 comments

Duck!I visited Theodore Roosevelt Island today on the way home from work. I was taking some pictures of deer that were too far away for my 70-200 lens, hoping that I might be able to get a reasonable crop. i heard a noise to my left and saw this duck flying down the open marsh.

Three quick shots. Only one in focus. Timing is everything.

Can the birders out there help out with an identification?

Bonus picture.  The deer too far:

  3. Wow, great photo. It’s perfect, and the colors are beautiful. I’ve never seen one of these.
