Lacrosse Ramps Up [274]

Lacrosse Ramps UpSpring is lacrosse season and the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) men are preparing by playing indoor winter leagues. This is my son Nick, a Long Pole Midfielder taking the ball up after a turn-over. And yes, he’s using a short stick because this game was played on an inline hockey court

I used this game as a ramp-up to my photographic duties for the team during the season. Games are played in the evenings, in poor lighting. Still need to freeze the action with a high shutter speed, so fast lenses and high ISO is the order of the day. I have to find the right place to be, just off the field, in order to capture the action. It is very easy to take many pictures of the backs of jerseys.
